Up to No Good

Even though Jim believes that many of Huck's ideas are idiotic or not exactly well thought out, I think he goes along with them anyway because Huck is so stubborn. I feel that Huck sort of talks over Jim and doesn't consider any other options. Also, I believe that he goes along with them because he feels that if he doesn't, that he might lose Huck and if I were in that situation I wouldn't want to lose my partner either. I would much rather deal with the regret of contributing to one of Huck's plans than to deal with the regret of not going along with it and losing Huck himself. I think that Jim and Huck make a good team even if they find themselves getting into trouble from time to time.

  1. I agree. I think it would be difficult to stand up to Huck on some matters because he is so determined and sure of himself. I think that Huck would have done whatever he pleased whether Jim went with him or not. It was probably safest for them to stick together than be separated anyway.

  2. Yeah huck gives Jim company. He doesn't really wan to be alone. He may have also realized that huck helps him with a lot of things. Such as when they both ran away him ate nothing but Betty's until huck came along.
