The Life
In the story of Huckleberry Finn we meet several interesting and dynamic characters. One character we get to meet and learn about is Tom Sawyer. Tom Sawyer is a very good friend of the main character, Huckleberry Finn. They have been very close friends for awhile and late at night the two would sneak out and go to hood things with the rest of the boys. Now the two are alike in the sense that they like to do the same general things like smoke pipes, fish, swim in the river, things like that. Where they differ is in their mind set. Tom Sawyer has the more imaginative mind, he likes to act like a bandit, murdering people and taking all their money for himself. Now Huckleberry Finn on the other hand is way more logical and he finds it hard to play with Tom Sawyer due to the fact that Huckleberry Finn likes to see things in the real, not just run around and imagine them. A great example of this is at one part in the book the boys have become a band of robbers. Tom Sawyer explains to all the boys that a huge convoy of jewels, money, elephants, and Egyptian merchants are stationed somewhere close by and they all have to go find them and take the riches. With that in mind all the boys follow Tom to where the "riches" were supposed to be but, upon arrival, they only find a school picnic. Now Tom runs towards them screaming for them to give up the jewels but Huckleberry didn't see any jewels or any elephants. All he saw were a bunch of kids eating a picnic and enjoying their day. This is one of the many examples on how they are different in their mind sets and how they look at things.
