Runaway Circumstances

For Huck it was a choice to runaway just for reasons that he didn't like being told to do one thing by one person and then told to do another thing by someone else. Even if he was found he wouldn't have to face as big of consequences as would Jim. Jim on the other hand would face a situation of possibly being sold as a slave. I'm not sure Huck realizes the danger or bigger picture of Jim being found because of the way he risks going into the town just to see what's going on. Huck doesn't seem to have a fear of Jim being found and it seems that Jim might have a trusting heart towards Huck and feel safe being around Huck. It could possibly be that he just forgets the situation and just is being as careless as Huck. And I think that because Jim doesn't express his fear. If Jim were worried about being found then I feel like the worry would be overwhelming for him to hold in or maybe even keep him awake at night.

  1. I agree with the fact that Jim should maybe be a little more careful. He might get too caught up in the moment and do something to get him caught. If Huck gets caught he just gets to go back home, but Jim, he could possibly get killed. I like your theory on how Jim just forgets the situation, he doesn't show fear toward Huck.

  2. There is a big difference in the consequence between Jim and Huck. If Huck gets caught he will not get in as much trouble as Jim.
