If You Think Education Is Expensive, Try Ignorance.

While reading, I noticed Jim's ignorance when it came to getting scammed with his money, and it made me think of the movie, Wolf of Wall Street (although it is not the most appropriate movie). In the movie, Jordan (CEO Stockbroker) basically scams people with little money to invest in his company, which ends up being a complete scam. The victims in the movie trusted Jordan, just like the slaves in the book trusted the "banker", and ended up losing the majority of their money.
One time in the past, somebody wanted to purchase a cell phone of mine through PayPal and said they would pay me once I send it out because they lived in a different country. After I sent it, they never added the money and I basically got scammed for my phone. Luckily, I was able to cancel my package before it got too far. Never again will I accept a payment through PayPal, especially from another country.

  1. Everybody always says our generation is more devious than theirs! I think by you stating this, it really shows that there has always been evil people, but they're just being brought to light now! And now there is more money at risk than one dollar.. Thank you for sharing!

  2. I guess that just goes to show you that there has always been liars and scammers in all time periods. Not just in ours. It was unfortunate when the slaves lost their money, but then again they probably should've thought that through a little more. Also, sorry about your phone, thanks for the heads up about PayPal!!
