A fortune to wake the soul

In chapter four Huck goes to Tom for insight and for Tom to predict his future. Tom has an hair-ball from the stomach of an ox. Tom would tell people he could predict their future with the hair-ball for money. As crazy as I thought this was, I looked up "Fortune telling with hair-balls" to see if people actually did such a thing. I was amazed that some do. In this article, "Palms, cards, and hair-balls" there is a man who claims his spiritual powers come from an hair-ball. He claims that it lives through him. How Creepy.
