Way's of the Drunk or the Widow

Reading the chapters thus far of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn it has become prevalent that his life is not up to him. With the widow he was forced to be civilized and well mannered Christian boy, the exact opposite of what Huck is and wants to be. But with his father Huck is closer to what he wants, which is freedom to fish, hunt and smoke the day away. With the woods and the freedom also comes beatings, being locked in there cabin for hours or days, and a chance of death which he never had to go through at the widow's house. Most say that he is better with the widow,  but what about what Huck wants. What if he lived on his own or with a friend, would he be better off than forced to do and be something he doesn't want to be or to be beaten and tormented by a man that thinks he is his father, but have the freedom he wants. I think he should leave or kill his father depending on how he acts and go to live somewhere away from all his problems for he has 6,000 dollars and he has grown up on his own for most of his life, but what do you think?
