So what made me think was when Jim said that when chickens
fly, you know a storms a comin'!I have only seen chickens fly when some little
kid is running after them, and it's not really a flying action. With all of
this Superstition in the air, I decided to look up other sayings as to how
animals predict events. 1. It's lucky if a bat falls on you, it's unlucky if a
family brings a bat into the house. 2. Touching a frog gives you warts. 3.The
Irish believe that a black cat crossing your path at moonlight will bring death
by epidemic. 4. A house that has an owl hanging about generally meant that a
powerful shaman lived within. I really don't understand why people would make
these crazy assumptions! Maybe just to keep themselves entertained?
A common reason superstitious sayings like this are made is because people are scared of what they don't understand and they are just giving a reason for it happening.
ReplyDeletei think its interesting what people think that simple things like a chicken flying mean more than just what it is.
