huckleberry finn and the gang

We started reading Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn. Huck Finn is a young boy with an abusive father who was taken in by an older women. He’s independent and has a realistic imagination. Huck and his group of friends created a gang with a questionable oath that they made up from the details from stories of pirates and thieves. We also learned that the supposed leader of the gang was overly imaginative with his adventures, and even when they tried to steal things, the group normally backed out. By the end of our time for reading, I learned that Huck's father had returned and was not happy about him going to school and learning to read. The story is pretty interesting right now and I hope we get as far as we can into the book.
