Hucka Dee Huck Huck Huck
Huck Finn is one out of control boy! But he kind of reminds me of myself.. When I was younger, in the summer nights, I would sneak out with my cousins (In Huck's case, it's his friends) and actually go to the woods! We would pretend to play games as if we lived in the "real world". The only difference between Huck and his friends, and my cousins and I was that we didn't want to actually kill people, and we didn't make blood pacts. I believe that Huck wants to pretend and be somebody else because he doesn't like his life. I mean, I wouldn't either! His dad is a drunk, he doesn't know anything, and he has been passed around his whole life. I feel sorry for Huck because he is paranoid about his dad coming back! He's as scared as a dog being attacked by a vacuum! I wonder if his dad ever heavily abused him? Does he ever want to go to school?

I agree wonder if he was ever abused and he thinks being some one else will help escape the harmful reality of his own life.
ReplyDeletethis is great point. he does seem like he wants to be somebody else. those references you used are good as well. I can relate to them so well. my siblings and I would play outside and pretend to be different people and characters from movies. also my dog is terrified of the vacuum!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree that maybe Huck just wants to pretend and be imaginative instead of actually causing trouble. The imaginative adventures that he has with Tom and their friends sounds like they would have a lot of fun!
