There were two different ways to supposedly find dead bodies
in the water. One of them was to fire off a cannon to make the body surface and
the other was to put mercury in your bread. They put it in the water and it
would float until there was a dead body under the water and it would stop so you
could find it.
i think that using a cannon to find a dead body is a crazy theory and whoever came up with it has a great imagination.
