In chapter V, Huck's belligerent father comes into the story in a rather harsh way, which made me feel very grateful for the life I was given. To have parents who want the best for us kids in every way possible; who have told us repeatedly to achieve more than they ever had. It is quite upsetting to have the realization that people can be so selfish when it comes to their children, just because of the threat of superiority; it's heartbreaking, really. On the other hand, Mark Twain did an exceptionally effective job in portraying Huck's father's personality, and the emotions behind everything; as well as intriguing to the sympathy of the reader.
I have to agree with the statement that people are selfish when it come to children. I still dont comprehend when people have children why they either shelter and live their lives thru them or just don't care and give up on them. What happened to parenting and helping children achieve goals? To making better futures? To help someone get to their future?
ReplyDeleteI agree compared to Huck I have no worries at home I'm good but poor Huck I can't believe why a father would do that
